Newest Creations/Bellingham Farmer's Market July 28th
Sneak peek this week. Ferns seem to be very popular so this week I made a few more. I put some on rocks and some on beach glass. I collected tiny fresh baby ferns from the woods behind where I live. I will also have a larger display of beach glass this coming Saturday at the Bellingham Farmer's Market. I will be in my usual spot down on the corner. I am excited to share my beach glass collection in the new wooden box my friend Shaun made for me. Come out and check out my newest creations.
The ferns look so pretty on the lighter rocks.
I have several lighter and whiter rocks as requested. Here

Good Times At The Market!
I had another wonderful time sharing my Petra's Petals and my new beach glass with so many great people yesterday at the Farmer's Market. Because the children love my butterflies so much I brought extra this week. I also was on the lookout for that young adult who had her butterfly swooped up by a little girl last week. She did show up in the afternoon and I only had 6 left out of the 23 I had brought with me. I told her I had made extra because I was hoping she would come back to get one and she did!!
I am very happy to say that people loved my beach glass! I will have to get busy this week and make some more. My friend Shaun is making me a wooden box to display my glass in. I can't wait to see it as I know he does great work. His wife Rachel sells her beautiful felt bags, bracelets, rings, and a variety of handmade items right next to me. She also has an Etsy site which is: FULLTHROTTLEGYPSY.ETSY.COM if you would like to see and buy some of her amazing items.
I have such good times at the Market talking to people, laughing and enjoying life! I can't wait until next week!!

BEACH GLASS FLOWER ART/ New item I am selling this Saturday the 21st down on the corner of the Bellingham Farmer's Market
I am a beach-comber by heart. I just love collecting rocks, shells
and beach glass that has been washed over and over by the waves.
I have a pretty good collection that I store in old blue canning jars
on my patio. I love the way it looks. The other day I had an idea to
put some of my petals on some of the glass. I love it!!

Fly Away Butterflies Fly Away!
I had another absolutely amazing day at the Farmer's Market on Saturday. I met so many nice people and had many great conversations! The highlight of my day was when a lady came up to my table and all she could say was, "Look at that one...look at that one, look at that one" with much excitement in her voice. I joined in with her and said, "No...look at that one pointing to a different rock". She laughed... and then we laughed! It feels good to know my rock art is going home with people who love them as much as I do!
Butterflies, butterflies, butterflies.....going-going-gone! Every week I make around 15 Petra's Petals with a little butterfly on them. I use little bell-shaped petals for the wings and then I paint the body on. The kids love these and they go pretty fast. This Saturday a mom bought several to put in party favor bags for her daughter's birthday party. What a great idea!!!
A young adult was passing my table with a couple of her male friends when she suddenly made a bat-left in front of them....almost tripping them up so she could to stop to look at my table. She picked up my last butterfly but sat it down so she could look at other rocks. While she was looking on the other side of the table a girl around 10 years old walked up and scooped up the butterfly...paid for it and was gone. When she came back around she said to me, "Did that little girl just buy that butterfly?" Going-going-gone!!!

Summer Love!
What an absolutely gorgeous Summer day we had on Saturday. The sunshine brought people out by the droves. Oh what a fun day at the Farmer's Market in so many ways. My Petra's Petals were going home with someone new to love them, and I met some amazing people. Flip-flops, tank tops, shorts, hats, ice cream cones, strawberries, raspberries, bunches and bunches of fresh cut flowers and painted faces were some of the delightful things I enjoyed watching coming down the sidewalk.
I had many wonderful conversations one of which rings in my heart that I would love to share with you. It was after 3:00 and the main Market was closing up when an elderly lady approached my table of Petra's Petals. She grabbed one up and held it a couple of inches from her face and exclaimed how beautiful it was. She continued to do so with just about every one of them! She loved them all and could not decide which one to get for her husband. As she examined each one from all angles she shared with me how her husband has cancer and is in the hospital with the flu waiting to get healthier to have another surgery. My heart stood still for a moment as my eyes were affixed on her...letting the world pass by in a blur around me. I listened to her pain but at the same time I heard and felt her love for her husband. I learned how he loved flowers and how he was a sensitive and loving man. As I wrapped her Petra's Petals I told her I would say a prayer for her husband and asked his name. A tear fell from her eye when she said, "Tony". I don't know about you but when I see a tear in someones eye my tears want to join them...so they did. Please join me in sending up your prayers and thoughts for Tony.
I want to thank everyone who stopped by my table...thank you for loving my Petra's Petals as much as I do!!!
