Flowers On Frames

Floating flowers in between glass or flowers set in crystal glaze inside locket type frames are back on my table! My unique piece of driftwood display the large ones nicely. I have the smaller ones displayed on my oyster shells. They can be used as a necklace, a charm or just hang them up. I also have mini heart charm lockets with flowers inside. New charms coming this week!

Mini Bottles full of Petals

I have tiny bottles full of flower petals on my table. Some of the bottles have a tiny loop.  Lavender, roses, daisies, Queen Ann's Lace and pansies fill up these tiny gems. I have a few sizes to choose from. They make great gifts. I wrap them in tissue and put them in a cute little drawstring mesh bag. Ready to give to someone or unwrap for yourself later!

Mother of Pearl With Pressed Flowers

I know it has been a while since I have been down on the corner of the Bellingham Farmer's Market, and I am anxious to come back. Hopefully it will be sunny this coming Saturday...if it is I will be there! While I was on my Japan/Philippines vacation I came across some amazing Mother of Pearl Shells which I brought home.  Come on down and check out my newest artwork.

Here are six of my Mother of Pearl Shells. I have
ten more as well.

A closer look.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HYDRANGEAS

These flowers are so absolutely amazingly gorgeous! I had to share them with everyone!
I almost did not want to even press them. At least when I press them they will last way
longer than on the stem.

Spilled Flowers

No worries if I spill my flowers! I just press them! Then I turn them into art!

Colorful Hydrangeas

As you drive through our town you will see giant colorful balls of pinks,
purples, and blues in just about every yard. Purple is my favorite...and blue...and...
let's just say "I love them all!"

Circle of Love

I collect Evening in Paris perfume bottles. I love them!
They remind me of my childhood when my Granny gave
me my first one when I was 10. And I do LOVE flowers!

The Tree of LOVE

These heart shaped leaves came off of a tree in my daughter's yard.
The tree was huge. Branches and branches of hearts! I call it the tree of "Love".

Hanging With Posies

Pressed flowers on round frames. Hang on a wall,
in a window, or make them into a necklace.

Tiny glass vials with flowers inside. They have cork tops with a loop
so you can run your favorite chain through to make,
yourself or friend, a very unique necklace.

Sun Catchers

I will have a new piece of art on my table at the next Farmer's Market. I put tiny pieces of beach glass inside wire wrapped hearts. Sun catchers. They really sparkle when you hang them in the window!

Pressing Posies is What I Do!!

I love pressing flowers! You might say I am addicted to it! My garden and my patio are both in full bloom. It takes hundreds of posies to keep up with all of the art I make. When I think I have pressed too many...I soon find out I needed more. I usually press what the season brings. The hydrangeas are in bloom right now. I have some gorgeous blue ones pressing now. It is also wild daisy season as well.  Sparkling in the sunshine you will see many pieces of glass with these white and yellow gems on my table.  Ferns are native to the Pacific Northwest growing everywhere. I get mine on the property where I live.  I am lucky to have the woods so close.  I press books of them every year as they are a BIG favorite! I put them on glass, shells, lockets, and in my "Tiny Bits"(my tiny containers have whole leaves inside).

Raining!

This message is for anyone that might just happen to check to see if I will be at the Farmer's Market on this gloomy...drippy day. I just can't bring myself to set up my table of pressed flower art and stand in the rain and wind. That just does not sound like a whole lot of fun to me! Hopeful for a sunny day next week!

A Joyful Day!

Wow, did I enjoy my time at the Farmer's Market yesterday! Our gorgeous weather brought people outside, it put huge smiles on faces. Joy on faces sipping iced coffees, joy on faces licking and slurping ice cream cones and snow cones and joy on faces eating baskets of fresh organic raspberries and strawberries.  Joy on faces eating giant chunks of jam filled pastries, and joy on the faces of the small ones walking so proudly with flowers and bugs painted on their faces. Once in a while there is a break in the crowd coming down the sidewalk; crowds of people out for their own quest of finding that perfect gift or just a savory loaf of bread or a sweet bunch of fresh cut flowers, that is when I sit back and watch the magic of life! In the distance a busker singing, laughter, sea gulls overhead, the train blasting it's horn as it passes through our bay. I love my hobby. I never tire of collecting and pressing my flowers or beach combing for glass and shells. The fresh air and smells of the sea give me joy. Then sitting in the early hours of my day sitting in a quiet house with the silence (well, expect for the coffee maker) creating pieces of little beauties to share with everyone
down at our Farmer's Market. I love the joy I see when someone loves my art! It all gives me much much JOY!

My Table on May 24, 2014

Tiny Bits in tiny pots! So cute!

Beach glass with flowers and leaves.  Lockets displayed on a piece of
driftwood, then the tiny bits, planters made out of stacking beach
glass with lucky bamboo, incense burners made out of bottoms
of old bottles I found on the coast, and then finally, at the far
end of the table, my shells with flowers and leaves.
I forgot to mention the blue glass jar with bookmarks.

"TINY BITS"

My newest item is a tiny flower shaped container with pressed flower petals, ferns or tiny bits of beach glass, shells, pebbles, and driftwood all gathered from the Pacific Northwest. They make great gifts or souvenirs.

Mother's Day

As I stood at my table of pressed flower artwork, in between customers, I watched, I lived, I felt life! A baby eating a giant pretzel, a lady licking the drips of her ice cream cone, bunches and bunches of lilacs held tightly with clasping fingers pass me by. Small children with bright eyes and rosy cheeks out for the quest of finding "Mom" the perfect gift for Mother's Day. It took me to a place of Motherhood as three precious little girls came up to my table. The ponders of my own heart came alive and my soul was flooded with memories of yesteryear. Memories of my own three little girls. Their joy, their laughter their love. The breakfast tray with the glass of dandelions freshly picked from our yard, homemade cards, and the handmade gifts from school.
They are all grown up now with their own little girls and their own precious memories to ponder. I felt life today, I lived life today. Pages of my mind were turned back in time. I love visiting those pages, especially the ones of my three little girls. My heart overflows with love for you.

I love you Amber, Bethany, and Cindy with my whole heart.

NEW ART THIS YEAR FOR THE FARMER'S MARKET!!

I am excited about my new artwork that I have created this past Fall and Winter. I am anxious for Spring time so I can set my booth up once again on the same corner of Railroad and Chestnut...right in front of the wood fire pizza place, La Fiamma.

I will only be on that corner if it is not pouring rain!!

I added shells to my table towards the end of last year because so many people asked me if I put flowers on shells. I listened to the request many times...so...I did just that...and they were a hit. I have searched for and have found some amazing shells to decorate with flowers this year. This is a small taste of the beauties I have created.

Pressed flowers on large scalloped clam shells. Each one is unique in itself.
They come in various sizes, from 4x5 inches to about 5x6 inches.

Close-up of the shell above.

One of the largest.

Pretty primrose and verbena flowers.

Unique large shells with holes drilled to hang. Very pretty hanging in a window or on
your patio. They come with a colored ribbon of your choice.

Yellow sunflower.

Pretty blue hydrangeas. (Notice ribbon to hang)
