I Will See Everyone Next Year!!

The weather is just too unpredictable for me!!! When they predict rain...it is clear...when they predict clear it rains.....sooooo........I have decided to not come back this year. I will build my inventory of putting real flowers and leaves on beach glass as well as my new artwork during the Fall and Winter months and see everyone next Spring!

My new artwork is the art of pounding the natural dye out of real flowers and leaves to create one of a kind pieces of art. I am very excited about this!!! It is so much fun! I love using real flowers and leaves in the art that I do and can't wait to share this with everyone. I am posting some samples of what I have finished so far.

The pansies really transfer well. It is amazing how the dye from the flowers
paint such a pretty picture!

No watercolors here...just the dye from the flower petals and leaves!!
AMAZING!!

All of the bookmarks will be made on card stock.
Each one is an "Unique, one of a kind" piece of art!!

POURING RAIN!

It is pouring cats and dogs outside right now.....that probably means rain tomorrow as well....bummer. I missed out on last Saturday due to the forecast of 40% chance of rain...then the sun was out all day long!!! Tomorrow's forecast is 90% rain....and the way it is looking out of my window right now makes me want to throw in the towel!! So...as of this moment I have decided to not come down to my favorite corner tomorrow....maybe we will have one or two more sunny days this year....you will see me then if that happens.

SHELLS

Some pretty shells decorated with pressed flowers will be on my table this weekend. The weather looks very promising....so I am planning on coming! Last weekend it was pouring rain in the morning so I made the decision to not come. It takes me around two hours to set up my table of beach treasures. Well....as you all know the sun did come out later. I apologize to everyone to whom I said I would be there if the sun was out....then I was not. I made my decision to NOT come when it was pouring cats and dogs. Here are a few photos of my shells. Some of them I drilled holes in. You could add them to a mobile or just  hang them anyplace you want. I am selling them for the same price as the beach glass and rocks.
Speaking of rocks.....I have had several requests to bring the rocks back.........so.....my table will also have some rocks on it!!

Putting pressed flowers on shells was a hit!! I took fifteen...came home with one!
I will be making more of these for sure!!

FOR THE LOVE OF FLOWERS

As usual I had a wonderful time today at the Farmer's Market. It was a very "Special" day for me. My life was changed and touched by two young women who sat up a Poetry Writing Booth directly across from me. They called it the Poem Store...name the subject, name your price. It intrigued me so....as I write some poetry myself.  Earlier, I had shared with them part of a poem I had written about a place I visited when I was a child...a field of poppies. My heart was drawn to these girls immediately and I felt the need to partake of their creativity. The poem that was written for me moved me so. Each and every time I read these words I have a warm fountain spraying from deep within....up into my throat....then slowly pouring from my eyes.  I love it so.

FOR THE LOVE OF FLOWERS

Her love of flowers plants itself
in webs between her fingers.
She dreams of California poppies,
a bath of orange spills over
a hillside. She has been here before.

She spends time in the garden,
naming them and rubbing their
velvet between her thumbs.

A love of flowers is a careful, old art.
perfected with knees in the dirt
and an eye turned back toward memory.

I WILL SEE YOU AT THE FARMER'S MARKET TODAY!

I will be down on the corner in my usual spot today at the Farmer's Market. I have some new planters on display and a lot more beach glass. Come on down and say hi!

Big chunks of washed beach glass. I added a few yellow
petals around the edges of this one.

Close-up of the one below.

Look at the clear glass lids on each side. Light blues and
a really old bottle bottom that has been washed by the waves.

Close-up of the one below.

Stacked with light blue glass and an old bottle I actually
found on the shore.

This one has clear, green and several pieces of the light
green from coca-cola bottles.

BEACH TREASURES

I have a new display! Beach Treasures. The treasures include beach glass, shells and
rocks with pressed flowers on them. As well as my beach glass planters.

Some of my beach glass planters and my rocks.

Here I am with my new sign and table display. A couple
of beach pails and some large clam shells house my
pretty pressed flower beach glass.

My wooden sign on the left says, "If you are lucky enough to be at the beach,
you are lucky enough." I displayed around 200 pieces of glass on my table
and in my wooden sand box. I had a wonderful time as usual talking to
people and sharing my art with them down on the corner of the
Farmer's Market this past Saturday. I can't wait until next week!
I hope it is nice weather...we need sunshine!!!!

Sneak Peek/New Item/Necklaces

Spring is finally here!! And you know what that means here for the locals...FARMERS MARKET! I can't believe the Farmers Market starts this Saturday, April 6th. It was a tough and rough winter for me. I am a sun lover by nature and there just was none...zip...nada. But boy was I happy last week and on Easter Sunday!!!!! I spent time in the garden with my three granddaughters egg hunting and soaking in the rays. One thing about cold gloomy days is that you just bunker down with a hot cup of joe and work on your art. That is exactly what I did. I decorated hundreds of rocks and beach glass with pressed flowers and leaves as well as some canvases. My newest items are necklaces made with beach glass. The trick was figuring out how to make that flower stay on that glass! I figured it out and I am quite pleased with my quest. I spent many hours in preparation for this years market and here it is! I can hardly believe it! Following are some photos of a few of my necklaces. If it doesn't pour down rain I will be there at my usual spot down on the corner! Hope to see you there!
